Functional Medicine Specialty Labs

How does Functional Medicine Lab Testing differ from traditional blood work, as done by my physician?

When a traditional physician runs standard blood work, they are looking for an already established disease process. Generally, action is taken only when the lab results are out of the normal range. The trouble with this is that many people might not have an actual disease yet, but they are suffering from chronic symptoms already. Why wait until the damage has been done? Functional medicine lab testing aims to prevent disease before it happens by assessing patterns of imbalance that, without intervention, will end up yielding chronic disease. When a known disease is already present, these tests can help us understand what may be causing your disease on a more personalized level.

  • How much does it cost?
One of the reasons why our patients love the Motion Wellness Ultrasound Clinic is because we provide our imaging scans at the lowest cost to our patients. Our scans start at $100 for a full Imaging plus a doctor's written report. If you get our scans done at one of the popular Imaging chains, or even at a hospital, it can cost you anywhere from $1,000 to over $3,000. We provide our service at a fraction of that cost, which is why our patients love our clinic.
  • Do I need a doctor's order/referral?
You are welcome to bring your orders from your physician or have your Dr. Fax us his orders to our FAX (844) 740-0174 we will send the results report directly back to him after our radiologist reads the exam. If you don't have a referral no problem, the state of Mississippi does not require a referral for ultrasound services, we have contracted with local physicians if you do not have a referral we will connect you with a physician so you have someone to follow up with your study results. Since we do not bill insurance, we do not require this, however, if you have your exam with another company that accepts insurance you may need a referral. One of the reasons why our patients love our clinic is because we allow our patients to “self-refer". That means that you can schedule scans at your convenience without the hassle of insurance companies, getting a doctor’s referral, or the extended wait times that imaging clinics might have.
